I have a 1,200 pt tournament coming up, and was 1 Grenade Launcher short of having the infantry component built. (Pictures of the rest will be up in the next few weeks!). There's only so much one can do with the single set of GL arms that come with the Cadian Troops box, and I didn't want all 3 of my GL-wielding troops looking the same. Here's what I came up with:
To make him, I grabbed the Cadian Command Squad box, with a GL from the Catachan Command Squad box (which doesn't have a hand attached to the trigger). I added the handle from a section of plasticard rod which had rings carved out of it, which hopefully looks close enough to the 'real' handles.
Finally, I noticed that the helmet-holding arm was much skinnier than the standard Cadian arms, and it had a cuff on it which the standard troops don't possess. To fix it, I used some Green Stuff to bulk out the inside of the arm, and carved the end of the sleeve down to match the standard arms.
Paint will be applied soon! As always, thanks for looking and feel free to leave comments!

Really nice.
I have a few guys holding weapons by the foregrip, but mostly shotties/lasguns, and usually in the act of throwing something with the other hand :)
I really like the at ease feel of this, and might look at some more casual SW troopers in the future :)
I agree with Karitas about the casual look of this mini. I was putting heads on my vets last night and had to stop and wonder why I didn't like the "action" poses so much any more. I need to remember next time to plan a few more casual stances like this. Very nice touch.
Thanks for the comments! I'm pleased that the 'at ease' feel came across - it was what I was going for!
I like to mix up my models and add a few different types of poses in my army, as I think it adds a bit of extra interest.
As always, I appreciate you taking the time to let me know what you think!
The simplest conversions are always the best, and this one is nice! Great work here.

Thanks, Pax! I'm hoping that once I've got my force together, people will be able to have a good look through and hopefully find conversions throughout, which are subtle but add some character to the army.
Of course, I'll have some more extensive conversions as well (like my veterans), but I like the idea of uniformity among my squads, just with some small changes to add some variety!
